As Hurricane Debby makes landfall in Florida’s Big Bend, residents of the Carolina’s are preparing for high winds, rain and flooding later in the week.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C., forecast predicts the potential for “extreme flooding rain,” storm surges along the coast and the wind speeds of more than 40 miles per hour beginning on Tuesday afternoon.
