Coronavirus live updates June 14: Myrtle Beach area sees nearly 100 more COVID-19 cases
Coronavirus cases continued to skyrocket in the Myrtle Beach area Sunday, according to the latest figures from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.
Horry County had 96 new cases as of Sunday, bringing the county’s total to 1,133 since mid-March. Horry County’s total deaths remained at 34.
In Georgetown County, there have been 164 confirmed cases and three deaths, according to DHEC.
Cases across South Carolina rose by 840 on Sunday, bringing totals to 18,795 with 600 COVID-19 deaths. South Carolina has an 80 percent recovery rate.

Three COVID-19 related deaths have been reported in Horry County this week. The highest amount of deaths reported in one week was six between June 1-7.
