Here are locations offering free COVID-19 testing in Horry, Georgetown counties

Free COVID-19 testing clinics are planned across the Grand Strand as the number of cases of the virus rise daily.

Horry County coronavirus cases reached a record high last week as South Carolina health officials ramp up testing sites across the state and in the Myrtle Beach area.

Here is the latest on testing sites and schedules in Horry and Georgetown counties:

Tidelands Health and the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control partnered to offer free drive-thru testing clinics. Tidelands began hosting clinics at the end of May, with its first clinic testing more than 1,000 individuals. Here are upcoming clinics:

  • 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, June 12, at Carvers Bay Middle School, 13000 Choppee Road in Hemingway
  • 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Myrtle Beach Pelicans Stadium, 1251 21st Ave. N. in Myrtle Beach
  • 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, June 19, at Inlet Square Mall, 10125 Highway 17 Bypass in Murrells Inlet
  • noon-6 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Tidelands Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, 100 Water Grande Blvd. in Little River
  • 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, June 26, at Coastal Carolina University, 100 Chanticleer Drive in Conway

Popup clinics will also be held at these locations on the following dates, according to DHEC’s website:

  • 2-4 p.m. June 8-12 at The Market Common, at 2200 Crow Lane in Myrtle Beach
  • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 12 at McLeod Health Center for Health and Fitness, 3207 Casey Street in Loris

Conway Medical Center and the Medical University of South Carolina plan to offer free drive-thru testing 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, June 12, at the Conway High School parking lot.

CVS Pharmacy recently started drive-thru testing at two locations in Myrtle Beach. All patients must register at CVS.com prior to visiting the testing locations.
