Myrtle Beach police investigate a report of gunshots near Ocean Boulevard
Myrtle Beach police are investigating a report of shots fired along Ocean Boulevard on Saturday evening.
Around 8 p.m. there was a report of gunshots near 15th Avenue South and Ocean Boulevard, Cpl. Thomas Vest said. There are no reported injuries at this time.
The shooting might have involved a couple of cars, according to police radio traffic.
Police searched an area from 20th Avenue South to 14th Avenue South for possible suspects in the shooting.
The Saturday evening shooting comes hours after three people were hurt in a shooting at an Ocean Boulevard motel early Saturday morning. Myrtle Beach police went to the Happy Holiday Motel, 507 N. Ocean Blvd., around 3:10 a.m. for the reported shooting, according to Cpl. Thomas Vest. The motel is off 5th Avenue North.
Vest said the three victims received treatment and two have been released.
The shooting happened after a disturbance on the third floor. Police immediately detained one person and found a gun.
The shootings are the latest in a string of gun violence that has plagued the Ocean Blvd. area in the last month.
