Rapper not only celebrity arrested in Myrtle Beach area. Who else landed behind bars?
A rapper arrested this week in the Myrtle Beach area is not the first well-known person to find themselves behind bars in the coastal city.
The music artist Desiigner, known for such hits as “Panda” and “Timmy Turner,” was arrested Monday on domestic violence charges.
The 28-year-old, whose real name is Sidney Royel Selby III, was arrested by Horry County Police after an altercation earlier this month between him and the mother of his child in the Conway area.
But the rapper is not the only celebrity to find himself on the wrong side of the law in Horry County. Here are some more recent arrests in the last five years.
TV, film star arrested
Zachery Ty Bryan, who is well known for his portrayal of Brad Taylor on the TV sitcom “Home Improvement,” was arrested by Myrtle Beach Police in January 2025 for second-degree domestic violence.
The 43-year-old was accused of choking and punching a woman in the Jan. 1, 2025, incident that led to his arrest, according to police reports.
It was unclear why Bryan was in Myrtle Beach at the time of his arrest. According to police reports, the woman, whose name is redacted, told police that she lived and had children with Bryan.
Bryan is also known for his role in the “The Fast and the Furious Franchise.”
‘You’re killing me, Smalls’
Thomas Guiry, who is best known for his role as Scott Smalls in the 1993 film “The Sandlot,” was arrested in the Myrtle Beach area in 2024 after allegedly bashing the windshield of a Jeep with a 35-pound dumbbell and appearing at the victim’s door with a knife, according to a police report.
Guiry was charged with third-degree assault and battery and malicious injury to personal property.
Guiry was 11 years old when he starred in the “Sandlot.” He was also featured in other films such as “Lassie,” “The Last Home Run,” “Wrestling with Alligators,” “Black Hawk Down” and “Justice.”
Things got crazy for ‘Crazy Town’
Seth Binzer, frontman and founding member of hard rock band Crazy Town, was charged in 2023 with a DUI in Myrtle Beach two days after a viral brawl between him and another band member.
Binzer, whose stage name is “Shifty Shellshock,” had allegedly left co-vocalist Bobby Reeves to carry the April 23 gig at The Boathouse Bar and Grill, leading to the two exchanging blows, which was captured on video. The restaurant is located in unincorporated Horry County.
TMZ posted footage of the fight, which also appears as age-restricted content on YouTube.
Crazy Town is best known for their 2001 smash “Butterfly,” which spent two weeks on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
