Closures coming to major Horry County highway. When will lanes reopen?
A lane closure is planned for a stretch of U.S. 17 Business, one of the most heavily traveled roads in the area.
Horry County Government announced on social media that the outer southbound lane of the highway will close Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and again on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. while crews work on intersection improvements.
The temporary closures will stretch from the Garden City Connector intersection to the Offshore Drive intersection.
The project is part of the county’s Road Improvement and Development Effort, or RIDE, programs. Work on the project is being completed in stages.
