Myrtle Beach bakery closed its doors. Something new will replace it. Here’s what
A specialty bakery in Myrtle Beach’s Market Common announced it is closing its doors — but something new will soon replace it.
You Eat I Bake, a bakery known for its allergen-free selections, announced online Wednesday night that it is ceasing operations at its 2834A Howard Ave. location. The storefront officially closed on Tuesday, but the bakery shared that a new pastry chef will be serving up baked goods in their former spot soon.
The bakery did not immediately respond for comment.
Nestled among a row of Market Common shops, You Eat I Bake served baked goods such as doughnuts, cupcakes, seasonal sweets and more. Its treats were vegan and free from gluten, dairy, nuts, soy and sesame. The bakery explained in its closure announcement that it was founded on the conviction that people with allergies deserve good food too.
In the bakery’s closing announcement, the owners explained that the decision to close came after “several major life events,” which prompted them to think about what would be best for their young family going forward.
“Small business ownership is deeply rewarding, but it is also demanding in ways that often go unseen,” the post reads.
The location’s closure may not be the end for You Eat I Bake, as the store’s owners still retain ownership of the business. The owners expressed hope in their announcement that the business can continue in some capacity in the future.
In the meantime, a new bakery is coming to the storefront, led by a “talented pastry chef,” according to the announcement.
“We’ll be cheering them on and hope you’ll show them the same warmth and support you showed us,” the announcement says.
No further information has been released about the new bakery or when it will open.
