Chicken joint coming to Conway. It will be the second location. Here’s when
A new chicken restaurant is coming to the Conway area this spring, taking over the former site of a local antique store.
Slim Chickens, a national chain serving up savory chicken tenders and sweet jar desserts, has plans to open in the late spring at 2199 Church St., the former site of Roadrunner Antiques. The 100-year-old building that used to house the antique shop was torn down to make way for the chicken eatery and a Firehouse Subs, The Sun News previously reported.
Slim Chickens aims to open the new location by the end of May or June, according to Jackie Lobdell, vice president of franchise development for the chain.
The location will be the second in the area, as the chain opened a Myrtle Beach location at 135 Sapwood Road in October 2024.
The chain has dozens of locations nationwide, with seven already open in South Carolina, several of which are in the Columbia area. In a matter of months, their hand-breaded buttermilk tenders will be available to more area residents.
