A teenager was arrested after beating up another young girl at the Cook Out on Highway 17 in Myrtle Beach, a Horry County Police Department report said.

The teenager who allegedly assaulted the other girl was given juvenile summons with a court date for assault by a mob and then released to an adult, according to the law enforcement officer’s written narrative.

Cookout employees did call 911 originally, but by the time law enforcement arrived, everyone was gone, the report said.

The young woman who was assaulted told police officers that she was at Cook Out, “when multiple girls kept coming up to her asking her why she was talking trash about them,” the report said.

She then told the other girls that she wasn’t talking trash and she didn’t want any issues. At that point, the report said that people at Cook Out started to form a circle around her.

That’s when she got pulled into the circle by the arm. A few moments later, the young woman was “being beaten up,” the police report states.

After a brief pause in the fight, the teenage girl grabbed the woman by the hair and pulled her to the ground. Once she’s on the ground, police state that the teenager continues to punch her in the head.

In the video footage reviewed by law enforcement, they say another girl can be seen trying to pull the teenager away from the other girl. As the teenager is being carried away, she starts to kick the other girl while she’s still lying on the floor of the Cook Out.

At that point, the girl who had just been beaten finds her friends, leaves and calls home, according to the report.
