Woman found passed out in mall parking lot with a kid in the car, Myrtle Beach cops say

Police found a mom passed out in the Coastal Grand Mall parking lot with her child in the back seat, according to an arrest report.

Myrtle Beach police arrested and charged Brittany Elizabeth Combs, 28, with unlawful neglect of a child. She was released from Myrtle Beach jail after posting a personal recognizance bond.

Around noon Monday, officers went to the mall for a reported overdose. Myrtle Beach fire also responded and helped revive Combs, according to an arrest warrant.

Combs told police that said she took a pain pill before picking her child up at school. She did not have a prescription for the medication, according to the warrant.

Combs then drove to the mall, where she lost consciousness with her child in the back seat of the car, the warrant states.

Unlawful neglect of a child in South Carolina is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
