Adults left 2 toddlers alone with drugs after fight, Myrtle Beach police report says
Two adults face felony charges after they left a pair of toddlers alone around narcotics, according to a report.
Myrtle Beach police charged Chante Kadijah Dupree and William Brandon McKoy, each with two counts of unlawful neglect of a child and one count of possession of marijuana. Police also charged McKoy with third-degree domestic violence and Dupree with an additional count of possession of a controlled substance.
Both suspects are in J. Reuben Long Detention Center as they have yet to post bond in their cases.
On Feb. 4, officers went to a North Kings Highway establishment for a report of a fight. Both Dupree and McKoy were arrested on domestic violence charges, according to a police report.
McKoy then told police that they left a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old unattended in a room after the fight, the report states. Officers went to the room to check on the children and it was locked.
When police went inside, they found narcotics the children could reach, according to the report.
Police say both McKoy and Dupree were intoxicated when arrested.
Unlawful neglect of a child is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
