Horry County Coroner identifies Myrtle Beach shooting victim

A 23-year-old died in a Myrtle Beach shooting, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.

Quashaun Bromell, of Myrtle Beach, died in the Dec. 30 shooting, deputy coroner Patty Bellamy said Tuesday evening.

Myrtle Beach police went to the 100 block of North Kings Highway around 10 p.m. for the shooting. Investigators say the incident happened inside a car that came to a stop near a Waffle House. Two suspects fled the area.

Police have not made an arrest in the case as of Wednesday afternoon.

Dane Morton was in the parking lot of the nearby Waffle House when he saw a black sedan going north suddenly stop.

“They were going 40,” Morton said. “Dead stop. I heard the wheels screech and everything.”

Two men jumped out of the car and fled the area, Morton said. A woman got out of the car and yelled for someone to call the police.

“The lady comes out screaming, saying her husband was shot,” he said.
