Myrtle Beach police investigate reported shooting along North Kings Highway

Myrtle Beach police are investigating a reported shooting near North Kings Highway.

One person was shot in the head, according to police radio traffic.

Cpl. Thomas Vest could not confirm the victim’s injuries, but said one person went to the hospital.

The shooting was reported around 10 p.m. along the 100 block of the highway. Officers were investigating near the scene, Vest said.

Several police cars and tape blocked off part of the road in front of a Waffle House restaurant that had several patrons inside. Detectives were investigating a black sedan in front of the business.

The suspects fled the area after the reported shooting.
