In the last year, at least three restaurants with honey in their name have opened or are set to open along the Grand Strand.

It’s understandable since honey has become the sweet spot in the food industry. Nature’s nectar is also growing among food items, especially with the trend of combo flavors like hot honey.

Here are restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area with “honey” in their name and what items they serve that include the ingredient listed in their moniker.

Honey Barrel

This North Myrtle Beach restaurant set to open in October is among the newest to embrace honey in its title.

Posts on the restaurant’s Facebook page say that it will serve “hearty Southern breakfast” options and “grilled steaks” for dinner.

The family-owned business is located at 228 Highway 17 N. A menu for the new eatery has not been released, but its Facebook page said dishes will range from “sweet, hearty, or classic.”

Honey Bees

This Myrtle Beach brunch restaurant opened in July, and is located at 109 S. Kings Highway.

The restaurant’s breakfast menu is extensive, and includes typical morning foods, while the lunch menu has sandwiches, burgers, salads and seafood.

The idea for the name Honey Bees was a tie-in to breakfast, as people “love honey in the morning,” said owner Artur Petrosyan.

The restaurant is decorated with bees and honeycombs on the wall, ceiling and even on the front door to the business.

Several dishes are served with wildflower honey, including pancakes and waffles that can be topped with honey instead of syrup.

Salt & Honey

The owners of Donald’s Pancake House at 2600 N. Kings Highway opened in May the new Myrtle Beach brunch restaurant Salt & Honey Grill.

The restaurant, which owners say offers a more “chic” experience, is located at 2800 N. Kings Highway, just down the street from the pancake house.

The restaurant embraces its honey name with honeycomb-shaped lights and mirrors, as well as custom murals of bees by local artist Dorina Fraser.

The menu doesn’t offer dishes especially made with honey, except for some items served with honey butter and the Lemon Honey Biscuits, which are brushed with honey butter and lemon zest. But it does provide breakfast favorites as well as some special creations.

Milk and Honey Coffee Cafe

The Surfside Beach coffee shop and bakery opened in 2022.

The online menu of the locally-owned spot at 351 U.S. 17 Business showcases several items that include honey, including a Yogurt Granola Bowl, Peanut Butter Toast and Whipped Ricotta Toast.

Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar

Located in Market Common in Myrtle Beach, the restaurant serves Southern food for brunch, lunch and dinner.

The menu is full of food items with “bee dust,” such as honey-dusted fried chicken and a sweet and spicy fried chicken sandwich with sriracha honey.

Tupelo Honey, based in Asheville, North Carolina, opened in Myrtle Beach in 2015.
