Starbucks has expanded its footprint within the Myrtle Beach area in the last two years. Locations have either opened or announced plans to start serving coffee soon in Conway, Murrells Inlet and Myrtle Beach.

Several new local shops and other national chains catering to coffee drinkers have also recently opened along the Grand Strand. Now, one newly opened location is on sale for a hefty sum.

The commercial real estate platform LoopNet lists Starbucks’ downtown Myrtle Beach location at 1301 North Kings Highway for sale for less than $2.8 million. LoopNet’s listing states that the property went on the market in October 2024. According to the Carolina Retail Experts website, the location opened in September 2024.

Jordan Koeppel is a senior vice president at Strem Capital Partners and one of the real estate professionals listed on LoopNet for the property. In an interview, Koeppel said that the land and building were for sale but not the Starbucks business or the rights to operate it.

He added that its proximity to the beach made it an attractive investment.

“I think it’s pretty self-explanatory,” Koeppel said. “It’s across from the boardwalk.”

The Starbucks isn’t alone near the downtown Myrtle Beach area. Google Maps shows nine locations within the area, with shops within walking distance of the beach and boardwalk and a Starbucks on Broadway at the beach. Horry County Land Records reports the less-than-acre tract last sold for less than $600,000 in August 2022.
