The ownership team behind a well-established Grand Strand restaurant brand is looking to grow once again, this time with a customized brewery inside Carolina Forest.

County documents show plans for South Coast Beer Restaurant and Brewery at 5020 Carolina Forest Blvd., to operate under the Coastal Hospitality Holding Company.

That’s the firm that runs three Grumpy Monk locations along with the Sneaky Beagle and Conway’s Hop N’ Wich.

Co-owner Christopher Evans could not immediately be reached for comment, but the Grumpy Monk’s website includes a logo for the “South Coast Beer Project.”

An application to be reviewed June 12 by the county’s zoning board of appeals offers some details about the new concept.

The 5,456-square-foot site would include a large outdoor dining area and 5,000-square-foot brewery with an in-house brew master.

Variances are being requested for parking, outdoor activities and music.

A sample menu shows price points for the burger and salad options between $8.99 and $14.99.

Evans, a 2009 Coastal Carolina University graduate, most recently took over a former Salvation Army store in downtown Conway to open Hop N’ Wich.

South Coast Beer would be joining an expanding restaurant scene within the fast-growing Carolina Forest development.

Don’s Deli last week announced plans to open a location there in coming months, and Firehouse Subs launched a franchise on Sapwood Road in May.

A Publix also opened inside Carolina Forest last November.
