Crews continue the search Friday for a young boater, who is missing after a small jon boat sank in the Little River area Thursday evening.
The missing boater was identified by family and friends on social media posts as 23-year-old Tyler Doyle, who was last seen Thursday wearing a camo jacket and khaki pants while duck hunting on a 16-foot john boat, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
Family took to social media to pay tribute and send prayers for Doyle.
His wife, Lakelyn Doyle, declined to speak to the Sun News on Friday.
“Tyler is strong,” Doyle wrote in a Facebook post this morning. “Tyler is smart. He’s out there I know he is.”
According to social media accounts, the Doyles are from Loris and are expecting a baby. Tyler Doyle’s Facebook account listed him as working at Carolina Kitchens, a refrigeration service in Loris.
Horry County Fire Rescue, U.S. Coast Guard and North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue are assisting in the search and rescue operation.
One person was rescued Thursday evening from the north jetties connecting the Atlantic Ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway.
The condition of the person rescued is unknown.
