Coronavirus live updates June 29: Cases climb by more than 150 in Horry County

Cases of the coronavirus grew by 165 in Horry County on Monday afternoon, health officials announced.

The latest announcement brings the number of COVID-19 cases in the county to 3,150 since mid-March, according to the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control. Horry County has had 44 reported deaths due to the coronavirus, DHEC reports.

Here are the latest updates on the coronavirus in the Myrtle Beach area June 29.

Last week, Horry County saw the highest number of cases in one week, with just over 1,000 announced, according to DHEC records.

In Georgetown County, cases have reached 440 and there have been three coronavirus-related deaths reported.

Cases across South Carolina have surpassed 34,546, DHEC reports. The state has had 717deaths due to the coronavirus.
