Cases of the coronavirus grew by 17 as of Wednesday afternoon in Horry County, according to the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control.

Since mid-March, 489 cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Horry County. There have been 28 virus-related deaths, DHEC reports. Wednesday’s latest death was in an elderly individual, according to DHEC.

COVID-19 cases have reached 78 in Georgetown County, according to DHEC. The county has had three deaths due to the virus.

Across South Carolina, cases of the coronavirus have climbed to 12,651 with 518 deaths, DHEC reports
