Is a popular wings spot taking over a Murrells Inlet restaurant? Here’s what we know

Could a popular chicken wing restaurant in Myrtle Beach be expanding into Murrells Inlet?

As of Wednesday afternoon, despite swirling rumors, the answer remained ambiguous.

It all started when Tuesday afternoon, Dirty Myrtle Wing Company posted an alleged statement on social media saying that they could be taking over Shakerz in Murrells Inlet.

The company then deleted the original post, but Dirty Myrtle Wing Company’s owner has posted what appears to be the same announcement on his personal page.

A message was left for him on Wednesday morning to confirm the news.

“Big news, we have now taken over Shakerz in Murrells Inlet as of today Dirty Myrtle Wing Company style,” the post on his page alleges. “We will have great nite life with our 1 of a kind food.”

The owner’s Facebook announcement about the potential expansion has since be shared in a local Murrells Inlet Facebook group, receiving 136 reactions and 11 shares as of Wednesday afternoon.

Dirty Myrtle Wing Company is a local restaurant that specializes in chicken wings, according to their menu options. They currently have a location at 2297 South Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach.

Their menu features wings coated in sauces like hot honey, mango habanero and Fireball whiskey.

Shakerz is a bar, restaurant and live music venue that’s minutes away from the MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet, SC, according to their website.

Previously, it’s been one of the many locations that’s welcomed bikers during Myrtle Beach Bike Week.
