North Myrtle Beach seafood buffet announces permanent closure after over three decades
After 35 years in business, Preston’s Restaurant announced it won’t be reopening again next summer and will remain permanently closed.
“Thank you for letting us serve you, as we will cherish the memories made with so many of our loyal guests, it feels like family,” owner Jane McMichael said in a statement on the restaurant’s website.
Its last operational day was earlier this month.
Preston’s was located at 4530 Highway 17 South in North Myrtle Beach.
McMichael said in the statement that cooks and staff will be joining her at Preston’s sister restaurant, Captain Jack’s Seafood Restaurant, in the spring.
She’ll be working at Captain Jack’s on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, McMichael said.
Captain Jack’s is located just a few miles away, at 1400 Hwy 17 South, also in North Myrtle Beach. Their buffet features a hot bar that serves crab legs, fried grouper, hush puppies and hot crawfish, along with dozens of other hot seafood and non-seafood choices.
