Myrtle Beach area brewery is closing its doors after one year in business. What to know

After less than two years in business, Voodoo Brewing Company in Murrells Inlet, SC suddenly announced their permanent closure on Facebook.

Their official last day will be on Sunday, Dec. 8.

“To everyone who has continued to support us, thank you!,” the announcement said. “This last year is one we will never forget and we will deeply miss seeing all of your smiling faces.”

Starting on Dec. 4, all food and drinks are 25% off, and t-shirts are selling for $5.

Two days after the first closing announcement on Dec. 4, Voodoo Brewing Company posted on their Facebook again thanking the community for their outpouring of support.

“Your kindness and generosity toward us has truly touched our hearts,” their Dec. 6 post said. “This community has made us feel beyond blessed for our time here in the Grand Strand!”

The Murrells Inlet franchise is not operated by the same people who own the Voodoo Brewing Company location at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach.

Voodoo Brewing Company was first founded in 2005 in Meadville, PA, and they opened their first tap room in 2012 also in Pennsylvania, according to the company’s website.

Franchise locations are currently operational in Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia. Their headquarters remain in Pennsylvania, with taprooms located throughout their home state.
