Liquor store and more coming to the new Publix shopping center near Market Common
Coventry Marketplace, home to a new Publix supermarket will also include a Smoothie King, a nail salon, a waxing studio and a liquor store. Along with those stores, a dentist office and a SC Federal Credit Union bank will be on the property as well.
A new shopping center located near The Market Common neighborhood is set to open in mid to late October, according to developers.
Bruce Williams, the owner of the Coventry Marketplace, said that the center was sixty-five percent leased. The center has four buildings and several spots for restaurants and retail. The location provides walking-distance access to the grocery store for residents along Coventry Boulevard.
It’s been over a little over a year of construction since Publix first announced the project in February 2021.
“With all the supply chain issues, we are grateful we are on track,” Williams said.
The Publix will be located on the southeast corner of the U.S. Highway 17 Bypass and Coventry Boulevard, near the South Strand Medical Center.
According to a brochure provided by leasing office Belk Lucy, about 21,000 square feet of out parcel land is available. A separate project to build apartments to the right of the shopping center will begin construction early fall, according to Williams.
This Publix will be the sixth in the Myrtle Beach area.
