Looking for fun family activities in Myrtle Beach? Here’s what’s happening this week
It’s spring time in Myrtle Beach, and many families are traveling to the area looking for fun activities to enjoy with their loved ones.
Here is a rundown of upcoming kid-friendly events happening in the area.
Myrtle Beach Pelicans Season Kick-Off Fireworks Extravaganza is Friday, March 18, starting at 6 p.m. and ending with fireworks at 8 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring blankets and watch the show from the field. Chairs are not allowed on the field. Admission is free with the purchase of a game ticket. The event will feature the popular $25 Family Meal Deal, which includes 4 hot dogs, 4 Pepsi, and a bucket of popcorn.
Bass Pro Shops in Myrtle Beach is hosting a free kids event to kickoff the fishing season. There will be activities focused on teaching kids how to fish, including their catch-and-release ponds, giveaways and photo downloads. It will be at Bass Pro Shops on North Kings Highway.
North Myrtle Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival will be Saturday, March 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Location: Main Street, North Myrtle Beach
The KidzTime Festival at Broadway at the Beach will be from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 19. Location: 1325 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach
Lively Grande Dunes apartments in North Myrtle Beach is partnering with the Grand Strand Humane Society to host Yappy Hour Adoption Saturday, March 19, from noon to 2 p.m. There will be live music by Janko Winhart, Mr. Softy ice cream truck, a raffle and local vendors, including Adopt Dogs Drink Beer and Vet Clinic of Myrtle Beach.
The Kite Festival at Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There will be kite demonstrations by Klig’s Kites, live music, food trucks, inflatables, and kids’ activities. Standard park admission is required.
Head to the beach! This weekend’s forecast shows warm, sunny weather Saturday and Sunday with temperature highs in the 70s and 60s, respectively, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C.
