Angelo’s Mediterranean Grill on S.C. 544 quickly finished up and opened the doors after Royal Pizza closed. It’s a small, family owned restaurant, moved from their former location in Surfside. Angelo’s offers both dine in and take out, and a quick call to 843-748-9604 can have orders ready to go.
Their menu consists of the usual fare, including favorites like falafel and souvlaki. The small eatery also offers gyros, kebobs and specialty sandwiches, all for $6.95 excluding tax. They also have platters for $10.95 that includes sides of pita, tzatziki sauce and a small Greek salad.
Angelo’s is open every day except Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 at night. There still doesn’t seem to be any online sources of information for the young restaurant but be sure to drop by Big Block Junction to get some fine fast food.
Mission BBQ is opening sometime soon in North Myrtle Beach, although the company has not officially released any information regarding its first South Carolina location. The franchise is known obviously for its barbecue but also for their dedication in serving those who serve.
This growing company makes their patriotism no secret and encourages their customers to do the same. Each location of this company regularly holds fundraising events for nonprofit organizations like Wounded Warriors, and local police and firefighting forces.

Pure Ultra Club on Main Street in Downtown Myrtle Beach looks like it’s expanding to feature two additions to the popular party place. The club bought more of the building and intends on splitting it into three entities. Pure Ultra Club itself will remain open and fully functional.
One part of the expansion will be called Paparazzi Café and will have a full kitchen. The other addition will be Oxygen Lounge, where they intend to have live music playing, such as jazz and blues. Both new add-ons to the Pure Ultra Club family will open at 4 p.m., with the lounge closing at 8 p.m. and the café remaining open later. As all three are under the ownership of the same person, the hours are going to be pretty similar.
Their website, pureultraclub.com, is under some construction at the moment but it looks like there is already a spot planned for Paparazzi Café. Pure Ultra Club can also be found on Facebook under that name although their social network site hasn’t shared any information about the two additions.
Another new Mediterranean influenced restaurant, Shawarma Co in Carolina Forest on River Oaks Drive next to Food Lion, opened at the beginning of the month. They have already begun adding new items to the menu, like stuffed grape leaves as another side.
This restaurant has a menu that allows customers to build their own meal. Bases can be either pita or rice or a salad and toppings include falafel, chicken and steak. There are a number of sides, and a meal can be easily topped with extras, in case someone wants extra protein or another pita. To top it off, Shawarma has a few sweets like baklava, rice pudding, and Greek yogurt. Catering is also provided.
