▪ The Nacho Hippo location in North Myrtle Beach is official, and the popular Divine Dining restaurant is seeking employees to hire. They’ve already held a job fair in their new building on North Beach Boulevard, across from Barefoot Landing, but no actual date for the opening has been released.

Nacho Hippo is a frequented restaurant by locals and tourists in The Market Common shopping area, and has a location at Myrtle Beach International Airport for travelers. This third location is exciting news for the people on the north end.

There aren’t any updates regarding the menu of the second location, though given how loved the first is, it would make sense for the menu to remain the same. Keep checking with Nacho Hippo on their Facebook page, facebook.com/nachohippo, to stay up to date.

▪ Mason Jar Deli & Market will be celebrating its grand opening with a ribbon cutting event on Aug. 28 at 5:30 p.m. in downtown Conway.

On the corner of Third Avenue and Elm Street, this little deli plans on serving their guests premium meats on fresh bread. Their page, facebook.com/masonjardeli, has shared a few pictures, revealing their hours and the menu.

They will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the week, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

From the menu shown, they will keep it simple and fresh. A few breakfast sandwiches are available, including some to-go options. The menu doesn’t indicate if breakfast foods are served all day, or if they are stopped at a certain time. The bulk of their menu consists of sandwiches, which should come as no surprise.

Mason Jar also will be serving a soup of the day, plus salads and desserts. To find out more, call 488-9990 or visit them online.

▪  Z’s Amazing Kitchen has announced plans to open on Sept. 14, according to their Facebook page, facebook.com/zsamazingkitchen.

They’ve revealed a few teasing bits of information, plus shown how construction is going. What little information they’ve shared indicates a casual dining restaurant with an array of dishes instead of one type of cuisine.

They’re working on putting together an official website, but they also have an Instagram account under the same name. They will be located in the Coastal North shopping center off U.S. 17 in North Myrtle Beach.

In the meantime, Z’s Amazing Kitchen is going through applicants, so visit their website, and check back with The Surge to see how their progress is going!

▪  Another Hwy 55 location opening in North Myrtle Beach on U.S. 17 N., an additional new restaurant in the Coastal North shopping center. This is the second location in the Grand Strand to open within a year.

On their page, facebook.com/pages/Hwy-55-Burgers-Shakes-Fries-of-North-Myrtle-Beach, they have shared pictures of their progress. This burger joint is growing in popularity, with numerous locations throughout the South and into the Midwest, plus a few international restaurants.

Other Hwy 55 locations include one at Tanger Outlets in Myrtle Beach. Call 236-0085.

▪ In the Big Block Junction strip mall off S.C. 544 in Socastee, Royal Pizza has closed. In its place, Angelo’s Mediterranean Grill is opening soon. For the time being, Angelo’s doesn’t have an online presence.
