Q. Why isn’t there an “e” on the end of the words, Old Fish House?

A. Because we’re not putting on any airs here.

Q. Do you like those unusual spellings around here, where people put an “e” on the end of everything?

A. No, I’m turned off by all that fanciness. I don’t really care for that.

Q. How do you guys keep it real?

A. We see everybody here, after parties and dinner. Everybody comes here.

Q. How did the bar get the nickname “Big Tuna?”

A. It’s probably because of all the big fish stories that are told around here. We get a lot of fishermen in here, and they love to tell big stories. Plus, everyone loves our seared tuna.

Q. What’s the weirdest “big fish” story you’ve ever heard in here?

A. My husband and two of his buddies saw a great white in Winyah Bay. It was circling around a black drum (fish.) It was just circling and circling.

Q. What did they do then?

A. My husband’s friend poked it with his push pole.

Q. What drink best represents the Big Tuna?

A. We have a tuna punch with Malibu rum, Quantro and all the juices. We also have island mimosas. But our signature drink is now the Southern Shaved Beaver. Thank you, Kevin Connelly. He came up with that.
