▪ Months of renovation have passed for the North Myrtle Beach Bowling Center, and it looks like preparations are finally done. Renamed as 710 North Myrtle Beach, this bowling alley is going to be much more than just a place to enjoy the challenge of bowling with buddies. An array of other recreational activities will be available to players, a few examples being billiards, bocce, air hockey and darts.

Along with the complete renovations done to provide more fun and games comes an overhaul to the menu. They’ve hired a local and popular chef to update the dishes available to the patrons of 710, and make everything as unique as possible.

In that same vein, 710 will have 16 different craft beers, available on draft or bottled. If beer isn’t your thing, some cocktails and a wine list will make you feel better. It also looks like a brunch menu will be available to early diners on the weekend.

A grand opening ceremony for 710 will be May 8 at 5 p.m., after which the doors will be open to the public. For more information on the fun and feasting to be had, drop a like on their Facebook page or visit www.710bowling.com, their fully functional website. 710 can also be reached at 663-2695.

The Olive Shoppe from Barefoot Landing plans on opening the doors to its newest location in early May. As with its other locations, The Olive Shoppe in Market Common will sell a variety of delicious olive oils and vinegars, with a sign hanging in the window welcoming tasters. Visit their website at www.beacholiveoils.com or find them on Facebook to stay up to date.

▪ A new casual dining restaurant is opening soon in Conway on U.S. 501 near Seventh Avenue. Luii’s Grill got its start in Georgia but is gradually expanding the franchise with the help of local owners throughout the East Coast. This restaurant will offer pizza, wings and burgers, plus salads, calzones and subs. The banner on the building only says “Opening Soon!” so we’ll be keeping an eye out for the big announcement. The business does have a website, www.luiisgrill.com, but as of yet there isn’t much information available about the local addition.

▪ A brand new burger joint is replacing the long emptied Atlanta Bread on Sayebrook Parkway by U.S. 17 Bypass and S.C. 544. Headquartered in North Palm Beach, Fla., BurgerFi is one of the nation’s fastest growing all-natural burger concepts.

This will be BurgerFi’s second location on the Grand Strand. The restaurant dedicates itself to dishing up burgers that are always fresh and made-to-order. Menu items include burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings, shakes, beer and wine. BurgerFi serves all-natural beef in a hip, environmentally friendly atmosphere that features chairs made from recycled Coca-Cola bottles, tables made out of compressed recycled wood, and large fans that use 66 percent less electricity than nine small ceiling fans combined.

The new restaurant is expected to open May 6 at 11 a.m. The first Strand location is in North Myrtle Beach off U.S. 17 at the intersection with Robert Edge Parkway.

▪ It’s official! Café Old Vienna has left its location off of 38th Avenue and has now reopened down the street heading south at 1604 N. Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach. The new larger space has a full bar, a stage and more seating for guests.

The restaurant still offers soups, salads, schnitzel specialties with veal, chicken, bratwurst, sausage, beef stew, pork, and variety of gluten-free menu options as well live music performances throughout the week. Cafe Old Vienna is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch with an hour break until reopening at 3:30 p.m. for dinner.
