Kobe Hibachi Grill is now open in the St. James Plaza on S.C. 707 down in Murrells Inlet. This addition makes the shopping center seem even more international, with three other restaurants boasting different cuisines: Italian at Aromas, Mexican at Habeneros, and American at Driftwoods Seafood & Steak.

But for some decently priced Japanese food, Kobe is the place to go. This new restaurant boasts fresh sushi with no MSG, including platters, rolls and party plates. Their entrees include hibachi classics such as chicken and shrimp, and for a little something more, they also offer special entrees with filet mignon. There are quite a number of sides to choose from, a few salads, plus some combination meals.

Kobe can be reached at either 650-8898 or 650-7222. The restaurant is open every day of the week with a few different hours. Monday through Thursday, they’re open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday they open at the same time then close at 10 p.m. Sunday Kobe opens at noon and closes at 9 p.m.

Le Cupcake Cafe has opened its second location at 1101 N. Ocean Blvd. in Myrtle Beach, right across from the SkyWheel.

Its other location is at The Market Common on Hackler Street. The cafe makes cupcakes, macarons and desserts daily and also serves coffee. Call 945-4715 or visit their Facebook page.

On S.C. 544 in the Coastal Commons shopping center, Thai Kitchen is open and serving customers. The small restaurant doesn’t seem to have a website yet, but they can be reached with a simple call at 234-0343. Although they are closed Mondays, Thai Kitchen is open the rest of the week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Down the street from Thai Kitchen, a new Fox’s Pizza Den in the Food Lion shopping area on S.C. 544 has opened. This appears to be the third of the family-operated restaurants in the Grand Strand area. To talk with someone, 234-9900 is the number to call. More information about this pizza place is available at their website www.foxspizza.com (which also provides the locations for their two other restaurants).

Fox’s Pizza Den doesn’t offer only pizza, but also hoagies, salads, and sandwiches affectionately called wedgies. Hours vary at their different location, as well as different coupons and specials, so be sure to give their website a visit.

In Conway, where Penny Mart on S.C. 90 was located, a new Highway 90 Diner has stepped in and opened its doors.

This quaint diner is working on its online presence, with accounts made for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Although their hours have yet to be put on their door, the diner can still be contacted with a quick call to 331-3213. The Highway 90 Diner is open all days of the week except Sunday.

Nina Hibachi in the shopping center near Wal-Mart on U.S. 501 appears to be gradually reaching completion, with a peek through the windows revealing some more work done to the recently gutted building. Taped up on the window is a paper showing their progress, such as what permits they have obtained and the permits they are still working toward. So far, there doesn’t seem to be a grand opening date.
