Back For More: A trio of chart-climbing 1980s hair bands are coming to the House of Blues
A pair of iconic 1980s hair bands will be playing the House of Blues on May 29.
Ratt and former Cinderella lead singer Tom Keifer and his new band are coming to the North Myrtle Beach music hall, and tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday.
The show is a prelude to the “The Big Rock Summer Tour” that features Ratt and Keifer along with Skid Row and Slaughter, and begins on June 3.
Three months later, on Sept. 3, ’80s hair metal returns to the House of Blues with the Swedish band Europe, which is best known for the album and single, “The Final Countdown.”
Ratt was among the bands credited with popularizing hair metal in clubs along Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The band’s lengthy list of hit singles includes “Round and Round,” “Lay It Down,” “Wanted Man,” “Back For More,” “You’re In Love,” “Dance,” “Way Cool Jr.,” “I Want A Woman,” “Body Talk,” and “Givin’ Yourself Away.”
Ratt’s current lineup includes original lead singer Stephen Pearcy and longtime bassist and backup vocalist Juan Croucier.
Cinderella, out of Philadelphia, released its debut album Night Songs in 1986 that included the title track as well as “Nobody’s Fool,” “Shake Me” and “Somebody Save Me.” The band later climbed charts with “Gypsy Road,” “Shelter Me,” “Coming Home,” and “Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone).”
Keifer and his band released a new studio album in 2019 titled Rise that included the singles “Hype” and “Death of Me.”
Europe, which formed in 1979, also gained notoriety for the single “Rock The Night,” and the power ballad “Carrie.” The band has released six albums since reuniting in 2003.
