The winner of The Sun News Myrtle Beach area Player of the Week is a Georgetown athlete
Carvers Bay High School running back Zyrion Reed won the award for Week Five of the South Carolina High School League football season. Reed rushed for 259 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries in Carvers Bay’s win against Green Sea Floyds High School.
The Sun News has Player of the Week votes for the best Horry and Georgetown County football player for the 2024 South Carolina High School League season. Voting for Week Six commences Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, and concludes at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2024.
