Vote for The Sun News’ high school football Player of the Week: Sept. 30 poll
A new week means new opportunities to showcase high school athletes throughout the Myrtle Beach area.
Voting for The Sun News Player of the Week for Week Five of the South Carolina High School League season begins now.
Interested voters have until 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, to cast their ballot. Results will be posted on The Sun News’ website and Ben Morse’s X, formerly known as Twitter account, Friday, Sept. 20, 2024.
This poll is not scientific but an opportunity to highlight the talented athletes across the Myrtle Beach area.
Here are the Myrtle Beach area Player of the Week nominees
AJ Lee, Running Back, Andrews High School: The junior ran for 176 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Lee also finished the game with 38 yards receiving on three catches in Andrews’ 29-28 loss to Hanahan High School.
Zyon Guiles Offensive Lineman, Carvers Bay High School: Guiles finished Carvers Bay’s 42-18 win against Green Sea Floyds High Schools with 15 pancake blocks, a tackle for loss and three total tackles.
Zyrion Reed, Running Back, Carvers Bay High School: Reed rushed for 259 yards on 13 rushes and three touchdowns.
