‘Reasonable Doubt?’ series raises doubts about mother
I read the “Reasonable Doubt?” series by Issac Bailey. Justice is not served when there is doubt about a crime and a person is found guilty anyway. But I agree with Barbara Desselles' letter (Sept. 30, “Mother’s absence at trial raises doubts about alibi”) regarding Jamar Huggins' mother.
After reading the series I was shocked that Mr. Huggins' mother, who was his alibi, did not attend her sons trial but went on vacation to Atlantic City instead.
I have a son and I can tell you that if he was being accused of a crime he did not commit because he was with me, I would be screaming from the rooftop and would be at every day of his trial.
Also I would not wait to see if authorities questioned me. I would step forward to make sure they knew he was with me and could not have committed the crime.
At the least, I would cancel my vacation to attend my sons trial each and every day.
