This Korean war vet will march in spirit with other veterans

Editor’s note: In a compromise with Myrtle Beach, veterans will march down Ocean Boulevard on Memorial Day.

Re a Feb. letter, “I won’t back down to Myrtle Beach officials moving Memorial Day parade. Will you?”

I am an 83-year-old Korean Veteran originally from Massachusetts. Having located here 5 years ago, I find veterans in the Myrtle Beach area are treated with great respect.

I was very surprised to hear that the veterans Memorial Day parade was being changed. As I can't walk well enough for a volunteer parade, I want to give my heartfelt and full support to organizers.

I hope they are not arrested and jailed. But if so, I would be glad to serve some time for them.

God Bless all veterans, those who are still alive and those who gave their lives for our country.
