A young boy filmed his father as he was fatally shot in a road rage incident in Arizona, police said.

Dustin Jackson, 46, was arrested July 1 on charges of first-degree murder and drive-by-shooting in the death of the motorist, the Tempe Police Department said in a probable cause statement and Arizona’s Family reported.

The man killed was identified as Steven Bevan, 29, by police.

Jackson told police he was driving behind Bevan, who was stopped at a green light, so he honked his horn, authorities said in court documents.

He said Bevan didn’t move until the light later turned green again, then both men drove through the light and got into different lanes, police said.

Police confirmed from video surveillance footage that Bevan swerved in front of Jackson’s truck and stopped, according to the documents.

Bevan then got out of his vehicle and approached Jackson’s GMC Sierra pickup truck, police said.

Video footage from one of Bevan’s young sons shows his dad throw his hands up, then put them back at his side as he approaches Jackson’s truck, police said.

Jackson opens his door and shoots him in the chest while his 6-year-old daughter was inside the truck, police said.

Bevan was about 5 feet from Jackson’s vehicle when he was shot, police said.

Bevan was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead at 12:36 p.m.

His two sons, aged 8 and 9, were in his vehicle and were later picked up by their mother, police said.

Jackson told police he “was in fear for his life and daughter’s life,” according to the documents.

Authorities said they conducted a search warrant on Bevan’s vehicle and didn’t find any weapons. Police also said there was a size difference between the two men.

Jackson is 6 feet, 8 inches tall, and Bevan was 5 feet, 7 inches tall, authorities said.

Jackson lives in Phoenix and is a Marine Corps veteran, police said.

His bail was set at $1 million.
