Lottery player wins big after nearly tossing CA ticket. ‘Thanked the Lord of miracles’
“Feeling down,” a California man decided to buy a lottery ticket.
After Jesus Perez bought his $10 LOTERIA Grande ticket at a San Jose gas station, he scratched it while he sat in his car “hoping for a miracle,” California Lottery officials said in a March 13 news release.
Luck, though, wasn’t in his favor — or so he thought.
“I felt sad,” Perez told lottery officials. “But before tossing it away, I decided to check one last time.”
And it’s a good thing he did.
Scanning his ticket using the lottery app on his phone, he learned he had won the game’s top prize of $1 million, lottery officials said.
“I thanked the Lord of miracles,” he said in the release.
Another lottery player bought a ticket in California and thought he won $1,000, lottery officials said, McClathcy News reported.
Turns out, Guadalupe Guerro’s $100 Million Mega Cash ticket scored him a $1 million prize, lottery officials said.
