An argument between colleagues ended with one shot to death outside an Atlanta-area McDonald’s, Georgia authorities said.

Michael Todd, 40, was arrested Feb. 19 on charges including malice murder after he was accused of killing Donald Stewart, 43, during a “work-related” dispute outside the fast-food restaurant in Lawrenceville, according to Gwinnett County police.

Authorities said Todd was Stewart’s boss.

Officers were called to the restaurant around noon Wednesday, Feb. 19, about someone shot in the parking lot, police said in a news release. They arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, later identified as Stewart, was taken to a hospital but died from his injuries, police said.

Officers didn’t say what sparked the argument but said it was an “isolated incident.”

Todd stuck around after the shooting and was arrested by responding officers, according to the release. He faces multiple charges including:

  • Malice murder
  • Felony murder
  • Aggravated assault (two counts)
  • Possession of a firearm during commission of a felony

Todd remained in the Gwinnett County Jail without bond as of Feb. 20, online records show.

Lawrenceville is about a 30-mile drive northeast from downtown Atlanta.
