An Indiana man was arrested after police say he killed a fellow patient and beat another one at a hospital.

John Loran, 56, is charged with murder, aggravated battery and battery, according to a news release from the Indiana State Police.

Loran was a patient at Logansport State Hospital in Cass County on Feb. 4 when he “battered” two other patients, according to police.

Footage of the incident showed Loran holding a door open, and as a man, later identified as Travis Lunsford, approached the door, Loran attacked him, WXIN reported.

Court documents said Loran repeatedly kicked Lunsford in the head and stomped on his head, according to the outlet. A second video showed Loran go up to another patient and hit, kick and stomp on his head, WXIN reported.

Both Lunsford and the other patient were taken to other hospitals.

On Feb. 16, Lunsford died from his injuries, according to police. The other patient was treated and released.
