A driver survived off some snacks and water after getting trapped down an embankment for more than a day, Arizona deputies say.

When they arrived at the crash site, about 10 miles north of Lake Pleasant, the morning of Saturday, June 15, deputies said they found a car “about 200 feet down an embankment,” according to a June 17 Facebook post from the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver was trapped inside, deputies said.

A deputy, along with rescuers from other agencies, helped get the woman from the car and carry her up to the road.

Deputies later learned the crash happened 36 hours before rescuers reached the woman.

While she was trapped, “she survived off a few snacks and some water” that were in her car, according to the sheriff’s office.

Though the woman was dehydrated, deputies said she did not have life-threatening injuries.

She was airlifted to a Phoenix hospital, where she is recovering, deputies said.

Yavapai County is about a 100-mile drive northwest from Phoenix.
