International Drive, from Highway 90 to Ocean Bay Elementary School, will be closed beginning Tuesday for a controlled burn.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, along with the South Carolina Forestry Commission, will perform controlled burns along International Drive that will require the roadway to be closed to all traffic after 8 a.m. Tuesday and potentially lasting through the week, according to a release.

The roadway will be reopened if or as smoke conditions allow, the release said. This schedule is based upon the most current weather forecast and is subject to change.

Access to the Horry County Solid Waste Recycling Facility will remain open but only from Highway 90. Alternate routes include U.S. 501 and S.C. 22.
