The Myrtle Beach Marathon will kickoff the first day of March, with runners filling closed streets from Grande Dunes to Market Common.

On March 1, the wheelchair race group begins at 6:30 a.m., followed by the full and half marathon at 6:35 a.m. and the 5k at 7:25 a.m. All races begin near the Mama Mia Pizzeria and end at the Pelicans Ballpark.

However, some streets will close as early as 4 a.m.

The first half of the race goes from downtown Myrtle Beach to Market Common and back, so streets in these areas will reopen first. The second half of the marathon goes to Grande Dunes and back to the Pelicans Ballpark, so streets in these areas will reopen later.

Motorists should use U.S. 17, which is not part of the race route, to go north and south, according to the city.
