SC highway in Horry County to close for more than a month. Here’s what detour to take
Road construction along a South Carolina highway outside Loris has created a long detour that’s set to last through the summer, according to a press release from the South Carolina Department of Transportation.
S.C. 917 will close from S.C. 19 to S.C. 410 starting July 8. Construction on the culvert over Long Branch Swamp is expected to finish by Aug. 30.
Only local traffic will be allowed on S.C. 917 and others can use the detour following S.C. 19 and S.C. 410. This is located around six miles northwest of Loris.
