Surfside Beach teen charged with attempted murder

A 19-year-old Surfside Beach man is charged with attempted murder and weapon possession after a man was shot in the shoulder last month in Myrtle Beach.

Dominique R’Shad Andrews was arrested Monday by Myrtle Beach police, jail records show.

The victim reported the incident at Grand Strand Medical Center and told police on March 28 he was on the 300 block of 14th Avenue North when Andrews confronted him, according to an arrest warrant.

Andrews pulled a small handgun from his waistband and fired a shot at the victim, striking him in the shoulder area, the warrant states.

Andrews then fled the scene, authorities said.

Andrews is being held at the Myrtle Beach Jail where his bond has not been set.
