Update: Police release more details on recent prostitution arrest

A 40-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday morning in connection with prostitution in the Myrtle Beach area.

Amy June Benenhaley is charged with sex/prostitution, first offense, according to Myrtle Beach Jail records.

Officers were patrolling and acting in an undercover capacity about 6:05 p.m. on March 6 when Benenhaley flagged down police, according to a Myrtle Beach police report.

Benenhaley got into the undercover police vehicle and agreed to have sex with the officer for $50 at his home, authorities said.

Other officers nearby were given the signal to initiate a traffic stop and Benenhaley was arrested, according to the report.
