Authorities find drugs in another Georgetown bust
Heroin, pills, marijuana, and ammunition were among the items found by Georgetown authorities and 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit agents after search warrants were executed Thursday in what appears to be a series of recent drug busts in Georgetown.
Horace K. Rogers, who was released from prison last August after serving a sentence on a drug-related charge, was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of distribution of heroin, third offense, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, along with several charges for distribution of a controlled substance within half a mile of a school or park, authorities said.
Rogers was being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center on Saturday morning on $35,000 bond for two drug charges, while bond had not been set for several other charges, according to jail records.
Rogers was arrested after Georgetown police and DEU agents executed two narcotics search warrants on the 100th block of Collins Street and the 2500th block of Highmarket Street in response to citizens complaining about drug activity, authorities said.
In addition to multiple drugs, agents said they found scales, packaging materials, as well as ammunition for several different weapons during the searches. Agents also said they seized cash and a vehicle.
Authorities said they are actively seeking a man named Dwayne Hasan Davis on several distribution charges and are asking that anyone with information about him call the GCPD at 843-461-1331.
Earlier this week agents with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office also made arrests in connection with other drug-related charges, police said in a press release.
GCSO and DEU agents searched a home Monday on the 60th block of Belton Loop in the Georgetown area, and arrested two men, police said.
Jerry Wise, 37, of Georgetown is charged with two counts of distribution of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of a stolen handgun, according to sheriff’s office authorities.
Wise was released from the Georgetown County Detention Center Tuesday on $15,000 bail, records show.
Daryl Washington, 47, also of Georgetown, is charged with possession of marijuana, first offense and was released from the Georgetown County Detention Center on Tuesday on $620 bail, according to jail records.
Police said they found nearly 20 grams of marijuana, packing materials, scales, and recovered a stolen 9 millimeter pistol.
Authorities also made drug-related arrests Aug. 15 on Jordan Landing Road in the Murrells Inlet area of Georgetown County and seized more than 100 grams of heroin, police said.
Agents said they found powder heroin, black tar heroin, scales and packaging materials.
Arrested for trafficking heroin in excess of 28 grams were: Hector Omar Blanco Nieves, 36, last known address in Phoenix, Ariz., Enrique Gallegos Robles, 25, last known address in Los Angelos, Calif., Jesus Albert Rodrigues, 30, last known address in Mexico.
Matthew J. Negri, 42, of Murrells Inlet, is charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin.
Amanda Nicole Shirback, 25, of Murrells Inlet, is charged with possession of heroin.
All five were taken to the Georgetown County Detention Center.
