North Myrtle Beach Police broke up 5 fights on Main Street. How many were charged?

More than 10 people were arrested over the weekend in North Myrtle Beach after at least five fights broke out on Main Street.

Several North Myrtle Beach Police officers responded late Saturday night and early Sunday morning to the areas outside of Sky Bar and Duck’s Night Life, where the fighting had been reported.

The fights left several police officers injured, with one officer being transported to the hospital for treatment. In a statement following the fight, North Myrtle Beach Police said the fights were associated with the Myrtle Beach Spring Bike Rally. Department Spokesperson Desirae Gostlin told The Sun News Tuesday that data from previous years shows that these incidents are more common during bike week.

Several fights were reported outside the two bars, but the fighting first began inside of Sky Bar, according to police reports from Saturday night. Just after midnight, several officers headed to Sky Bar where several people were seen “engaged in mutual combat, throwing punches and pushing one another.”

According to another police report, one of the people injured was a security officer at Sky Bar. He told North Myrtle Beach Police that “a large fight occurred inside the bar,” and that people were escorted out of the business before more officers arrived on the scene.

At least four of the fights occurred outside or near Sky Bar, with 10 people arrested. Another two fights occurred across the street at Duck’s Night Life, resulting in four people arrested.

It’s unclear how many of the people arrested knew each other. Several had the same last names. Each person who was arrested was from the Lumberton area of North Carolina.

The people and their charges are:

  • Caleb Lee Hunt, 21, fighting
  • Ocoee Blue Hunt, 21, third-degree assault and battery
  • Keilo Nathaniel Hunt, 22, fighting
  • Phoenix Emmanuel Maynor, 30, resisting arrest/threatening an officer and fighting
