On Saturday night, officers responded to multiple fights and incidents in the bar area of Main Street in North Myrtle Beach, according to a North Myrtle Beach Police Facebook post. Several arrests were made as officers attempted to take enforcement action, the post said.

One officer was transported to the hospital for treatment and is expected to make a quick recovery, the post said.

Additional details about the incidents, including the number of arrests and charges, were not provided.

Myrtle Beach Spring Bike Rally runs from May 8 through May 17. The rally takes place throughout the Grand Strand.

“The North Myrtle Beach Police Department remained committed throughout Harley Bike Week to ensure a safe environment for residents and visitors,” the post said. “While the vast majority of attendees came to enjoy Bike Week... violence, disorderly conduct, and assaultive behavior will not be tolerated in our city.”

Officers maintained a strong presence throughout the event and continued proactive enforcement efforts to address criminal activity and ensure the safety of everyone attending, the post said.
