A Conway man pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a minor on Wednesday, over a month after his co-defendant received her sentence.

William Jacob Tucker, 39, of Conway, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and one count of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to a press release sent Thursday morning by the Horry County Solicitor’s Office.

His co-defendant, Lisha Ann Smith, 36, of Conway, pleaded guilty on Sept. 10 to two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, after sexually assaulting two victims — one for more than five years, The Sun News previously reported.

Tucker was sentenced to a total of 33 years in prison for his offenses — 28 years for the criminal sexual conduct with a minor and five years for the sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the release. His sentences will run consecutively.

Smith was sentenced to 20 years for each of her charges, the maximum penalty for her offenses, according to the Solicitor’s office.

Between April 20, 2019, and May 10, 2021, Smith neglected and physically and mentally abused three minor victims, according to arrest warrants. Victims went without food, electricity and running water for days, The Sun News previously reported. Victims were also exposed to domestic violence and drug use, according to the warrants.

Smith also hit minor victims with objects and her hands, The Sun News previously reported. Warrants state that she also gave them alcohol and that she engaged in sexual battery with children less than 11 years old.

Neither will be eligible for parole, and their offenses are classified as violent, according to the Solicitor’s office. They will both have to register as sex offenders upon their release, and Tucker will have to wear a GPS ankle monitor for the rest of his life, the Solicitor’s office said.

No further information has been released. The Sun News has requested the incident reports and arrest warrants for Tucker.
