As reports of a “Home Improvement” reunion show have been swirling online, criminal charges are still pending against one of its stars.

Zachery Ty Bryan, who is well known for his portrayal of Brad Taylor on the TV sitcom, was arrested by Myrtle Beach Police in January for second-degree domestic violence.

The 43-year-old is accused of choking and punching a woman in the Jan. 1, 2025, incident that led to his arrest, according to police reports.

His legal woes come as fans are hoping for a reunion of cast members who appeared on the 1990s show, starring Tim Allen as the family patriarch. Bryan appeared in all eight seasons of the series as the oldest child of the family.

A fan page on Facebook reported on July 22 that a special 10-episode reunion will stream this November on Hulu. However, no such announcement has been made officially by Hulu.

The original show is currently streaming on Hulu.

A message left with Bryan’s Surfside Beach attorney was not immediately returned. A message left with his agent was also not returned.

A trial date for Bryan’s pending charges has not been set, according to online records.

It is unclear where Bryan currently resides or why he was in Myrtle Beach at the time of his arrest.

According to police reports, the woman, whose name is redacted, told police that she lived and had children with Bryan.

Police responded to the 7800 block of Monarch Drive on New Year’s Day where the victim told police that Bryan allegedly choked and punched her in the face multiple times. The victim had apparent injuries to her face.

This isn’t Bryan’s first assault charge. In 2020 the actor pleaded guilty to menacing fourth-degree assault in a plea deal and in 2023 he pleaded guilty to felony assault in the fourth degree, constituting domestic violence, US Weekly

In addition to his January arrest, Bryan had his residuals seized to pay off a more than $100,000 judgment in March, according to In Touch. The court ruling came after a lawsuit filed in 2021 for breach of contract.
