‘Home Improvement’ star Zachery Ty Bryan allegedly choked, punched woman before his arrest
“Home Improvement” star Zachery Ty Bryan allegedly choked and punched a woman in the Jan. 1 incident that led to his arrest, according to an incident report from Myrtle Beach Police.
Although her name is redacted, the victim told police she lived and had children with Bryan, the report said.
When police arrived at the 7800 block of Monarch Drive in Myrtle Beach Wednesday, the victim told police that Bryan choked her and punched her in the face multiple times and had apparent injuries, including bruising and swelling on the right side of her face, according to the report.
This isn’t Bryan’s first assault charge. In 2020 the actor pleaded guilty to menacing fourth-degree assault in a plea deal and in 2023 he pleaded guilty to felony assault in the fourth degree constituting domestic violence, US Weekly reported.
Bryan, who had left the scene according to the report, told the officer he had argued with the victim about her drinking.
“He stated that he attempted to take the bottle from her and she refused and flailed back and forth,” the report said.
Police concluded that Bryan was the primary aggressor and arrested him on a second-degree domestic violence charge.
He was booked at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center with bail set at $10,000 and was released on Friday, Jan. 3, according to records from the Horry County Sheriff’s Office.
